Fenelle is 84.9% sure that this is some sort of test, but that concern is quickly overthrown by seeing Iron Treads "in the flesh". That curiosity is then quickly put in order again by Theo's question, forcing them to focus on the task at hand.

Both options have advantages, dee starts signing while contemplating. Here, with Iron Treads being especially sturdy, I vote wait. Dee also looks across, from the top of the sandbank. We're also higher up. We can wait until they're close, then ... Dee uses der hands to symbolise a spiky wheel, which topples down, rolling and gaining speed while impaling their enemies, with facial expressions to match.

(Dee wonders if the "scorched earth trails" would become glass in this desert environment.)

Fen's eyes widen as a gigantic Orthworm appears out of nowhere. This ... definitely has not been something dee considered, paying more attention to the physical laws of potential and acceleration, but ...

You never act isolated; you never move in an ideal world with no friction and point-shaped objects.

Does this Orthworm exist in real life? dee signs to Theo, but- his attention, and then ders is elsewhere. There's no enemies to worry about - in fact, they might want to seek distance from the Orthworm themself. Or ... What's that? dee asks, pointing upwards at the shadow, then signing What?

A perhaps is enough to make it real (or sort of real - aspirational) for Fenelle. Theo could clearly see a new hyperfixation forming with the way der eyes seem to sparkle at the idea, and the determination to find a giantass worm come what may.

Fenelle isn't allowed to dwell longer, however, as they find themselves in the midst of a war-torn landscape. Theo asks dem again, and dee ponders for a moment.

The shield ... can be used for defense and offense alike. You can hide things behind it.

Like a bomb, or something - while still keeping yourself shielded from the explosion if you're smart about it.

with a nod, they proceed with THE SHIELD, and what comes of it is expected. they assume a position of defense with the intent to hold the line long enough to disrupt the momentum and use it in their favor. what would happen, they may never know, as the simulation begins to shift once again.

The Dynamax Cannon in the corner of der eyes.

A flinch. A twitch. A head turning, just to be snapped back to look at Theo. But der feet stay grounded.
